Transformation Term Explanation Page

I said I'd make this lmao

I've been doing TF stuff for a goodly bit, and I've talked with other people in the community (not disclosing any specific names), so I've got a bit of a... "dictionary" and my own categorization of transformation-describing terminology.

I use a lot of shortenings (primarily to fit stuff into DeviantArt title limit, though me adding my "preambles" has helped be more descriptive of story details). Hopefully this stuff makes sense and doesn't make me look entirely insane lmao.

If you're someone who's not familiar with TF content before finding my pages, I'm making this page to explain a lot of the letter nonsense and terminology I use for my stories. A lot of the specific terms I used to describe my TF stuff (titles, etc.) have changed in specifics over the years.

These are not in any particular order.

[This page is liable to change]

First off, terminology I use for my works that are also shared with the general "TF Community" as a whole.

A lot of people already in the community tend to know these, at least in passing. I think...

Transformation (TF) : Exactly what it's talking about. Transformation stuff as a whole, with a quick shorthand because DA titles hate trying to fit the whole word into it.

Transgender (TG) : General term in the community for both changing the sex and/or gender of the "TFee". Sex ≠ Gender, but I didn't make the terminology or shorthand widely used by the TF Community as a whole, so this is what we've got.

Mind Change (MC) : Changing the mind/personality of the "TFee". Ranges from only partial modifications to complete overhauling/overwriting, the latter of which is also called "Identity Death".
(Brack-specific: I personally use MC for full mind change, and PMC for partial mind change.)

Twinning (TW) : Now there's two of them! (or more...)
When the TF ends up with more than one of the same character/entity.

Possession (PS) : Transformation through being possessed by a different entity.

Age Progression (AP) : Transformation where the "TFee" becomes (physically) older.

Age Regression (AS) : Transformation where the "TFee" becomes (physcially) younger. I seldom use this one, I've seen plenty of people fuck it up to absolutely FUBAR tiers lmao. It really needs tact behind it.

Hypnosis (HP) : Transformation where the "TFee" transforms through being hypnotized.

Now, terminology that I feel is more specific to how I percieve various TF things.

A lot of these are already common TF "tropes" in the community, I just never saw them get their own names or shorthand, so I made these names up myself... I think.

TFee : Entity that gets transformed.

Slime (SL) : Transformation through being coated/submerged by a fluid-esque substance or "goo". Many parts of the "greater" community bounce between calling it Slime, Goo, Latex, or "Transfur", so what term is used can be a bit inconsistant.

Scene/Reality Change (SC) : Transformation where the "TFee" is transported to a different place, whether it be during or after the main transformation itself has occurred.

Mad Science (MS) : Transformation where the TF-inciting thing is the result of science. MAD SCIENCE! Some could say... weird science ;}
TF from weird injections, science TF rays of doom, funky technology, etc.

Arcane/Magic (AC) : Transformation of a more... classical bent. You get the deal. Abraca-fuck you and all that.

Mesmerize (MZ) : Transformation plot piece. You know how in a lot of horror movies/slashers where the main characters see the FuckMurder Hole™ or Horrible AgoDeath Artifact™ and just throw out any and all common sense by interacting with it anyway, even when they have a "that's not good" gut feeling?
Like that, but with the TFee going into obvious TF situations/interacting with obvious TF items. The name implies that they're being drawn to it by some unseen outside force, in some way.

Relic (Rlc) : And now for the aformentioned TF Artifact of Doom™. Transformation through interacting with specific items. Includes things from Suspicious Idols™ to pieces of a cosplay to a weird flower or something, needs a physical component.

Nom (Nom) : Transformation through eating/drinking something. Cooked/laced/enchanted with a Mysterious TF Component™ during its creation, working with Fae Food rules, etc.

Delirious (Dls) : Transformation involving madness, whether it stays after the transformation is complete or not. A mad scientist-esque "eureka" moment, a madness-inducing revelation, the TFee thinking that they're (a) God, maybe going full Sparagmos on some other poor dude, etc.

Gore (Gore) : Transformation involving (a large amount of) gore, bloodshed, violence, and/or body-horror.

Thinned Veil (TV) : Transformation from being in a particular strange location. The transformative properties are derived from the specific location itself. Whether it be being dragged into a different world, transforming within a dream and it carrying over into reality, or just staying in a strange area for too long, etc.

Medium (Med) : Transformation where the TFee's physical form, or simply called "art style", changes. John McPerson™ getting anime-ified, people going full Roger Rabbit, even getting dragged into a video game and having the person's "style" change to match, and more, etc.
Most TF spaces call the general concept "Tooning", but I've seen plenty of arguments as to whether "Tooning" includes things like stylized 3D graphics (or even just a character becoming a "virtual" realistic 3D and looking "off" in the "real" world) that I made my own term lmao.

Rhythm (Rhy) : Transformation through listening to (specific) music or singing a (specific) song.

Diary/Journal/Data Log/Recording : Gee, rather convenient for the TFee to have left Bioshock recordings of their transformation for us.
A specific style of writing/formatting, as opposed to being a specific cause of a transformation. A character (whether it be the TFee or someone observing the TFee) documenting their transformation, often with dates to imply the passing of time, like they were documenting it in a journal. Can be flavored as journals, recordings, data logs, etc.

Trying to figure out pagination and shit lmao.
